Dear Keira Noemi Abigail,
I know that it’s been six days after your birthday but I haven’t blogged anything about you or posted any pictures of you. Well, there’s one picture I put on Facebook but it was taken by my sister (your aunt) using my father’s (your grandfather’s) cameraphone. I know I’m guilty, so I’m writing this for you.
First of all, welcome to the world my baby girl. You’ve stayed quite a long time on your mommy’s womb. Forty weeks and three days. You sure knew how to make yourself comfortable inside.
You’ll probably asked why such a long name. Well, your parents (that’s us) were so exciting we literally search each and every name available on books and the internet. So many good names, hard decision, your name could’ve been longer it won’t fit on any form you’ll fill once you’ve grown up.
Keira. It’s such a beautiful name that we found only days before your birthday. Some source says that it’s Greek, meaning “lady”. While other source says that it’s Irish, meaning “dark-haired”. You will certainly become a lady someday and your mother has always prayed that you have your father’s (that’s me) thick dark hair. Looks like your mother’s prayer has come true.
Noemi. I suggested this name to your mother and she agreed. She even decided to call you Noe(mi) instead of Keira. A source says that it’s Hebrew, meaning “pleasant” but other source says that it’s French, meaning “beautiful, gentle”. You’re certainly a pleasant little baby girl and, no doubt, beautiful.
Abigail is the name of King David’s wife, described as “good in discretion and beautiful in form”. This is your mother’s first pick. It’s Hebrew, meaning “Joy of The Father”. You’re surely sent from Heaven and we’re so blessed and joyful to have you with us.
Just like every beautiful names, there are also people who will mispell your name, just like your father’s and mother’s name. Not everyone here can write “Eric” correctly. Mostly it’s “Erick” or “Erik” or even “Heri”. While your mother “Lita” often mistaken with “Rita”. Be assured that there will be more “Kiera” or “Kayla” or “Kira” or “Naomi” or “Neomi” in the future but we will make sure that your name will be written properly on your birth certificate.
Some facts about your birthday. Your date and ours combine, make a good pattern. Yours is on 25th, your mother’s is on 27th, and mine is on 29th. While not on the exact date, we thought that you’re a perfect gift for our first wedding anniversary on June 1st.
June 25th will also be remembered as the day Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, died. Don’t worry, you can always google him later.
Now, I can’t promise to write about you every day but I will from time to time. I will also take as many pictures of you as I can. It will all become your precious memento of the past.
Welcome to the world, Keira Noemi Abigail. We hope you can enjoy every second of your life. We will take care of you, we will pray for you. May Jesus help you and bless you along the way.
With love, your father and mother.
